Fox & Co Environmental Pty Ltd have undertaken ecological assessments including detailed flora, vegetation and terrestrial and aquatic fauna assessments for some of Australia’s largest solar and wind farm projects.

Paul Fox is the independent lead ecologist for the Forest Wind Project which will have the capacity to generate enough electricity to supply one in four Queensland homes.  He has designed and undertaken the ecological surveys and assessments and completed the reporting, impact assessments and prepared the Bird and Bat Management Plan.

Fox & Co are currently undertaking ecological assessments for 3 significant proposed wind farm projects and 2 solar farm projects in Queensland.

Fox & Co can undertake:

  • Targeted bird utilisation survey (BUS) assessments to inform bird collision risk modelling for wind farm impact assessments.
  • Flying-fox and microchiropteran (insectivorous) bats (microbats) surveys for least concern and conservation significant bat species.
  • Least concern and conservation significant flora, vegetation communities including Threatened Ecological Communities (TEC), terrestrial and aquatic fauna surveys
  • Significant Impact Assessments (SIA) and Significant Residual Impact Assessments (SRIA) on Matters of National Environmental Significance (MNES) and Matters of State Environmental Significance (MSES)
  • Supporting reports for Solar and Wind Farm State Development Approval
  • Reporting for Commonwealth referrals.
